Call for Entries Accepted Artists
Artist Constance Kraus
San Clemente, California, USA
My figurative work stems from years of study and work with the human body, and a fascination with the perfection, imperfection, and tremendous beauty that are inherent in the figure. This piece began with a line drawing of a woman onto the ink covered plexi glass plate. In printmaking, the collision of palette and tools start a process whereby the colors and shapes morph and blend.
I get lost in the journey of each print and the results are often surprising. I wanted to capture a moment, a going forward. Her shape, her moving form, became apparent with the addition of color and the scratches of light. Her grace, beauty and solitude are what I see in this image. My hope is that each viewer has a new unique perspective that rewrites the story each time.
