Into the Hudson
I’ve grown up on, in and around the water. In 1986 I sailed to New York City with some friends and watched the Bicentennial Celebration of Tall Ships. I’ve been working on a series of tall ship paintings and “Into the Hudson” is one of these.
I’ve tried to create a mood of powerful serentiy with bold, dark colors and by simplifying the subject. I find acrylics the best choice to achieve these goals and work almost exclusively in this media.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
