My work deals with issues of memory, loss, and the slow erosion that time brings. I am informed by the nameless cities, alleyways, dive bars and the homeless asleep on benches.
I seek to remember those that see the loss and those who exist in it. My work is unearthing the stratification of our world’s decay, and its historical, physical and social remains.
The materials I use are a direct reference with the abandoned mills and tanneries of my youth along with the dilapidated areas of metropolitan and rural sites. The paintings are traces and lived texture of distant past, that express the frailty of humanity and the erosion of the lives that once existed; showing the elegance and beauty that is veiled by dust and time.
