The Water’s Edge
Call for Entries Accepted Artists
I love to snorkel, and to discover an entire universe underwater that is so diverse, so varied, so amazingly beautiful. At the same time, I am aware that our fish are disappearing or are contaminated. Their decline is a wake-up call to take better care of our planet. This painting signals the fundamental dichotomy of the beauty and value of life under the water and my longing for resolution of that which is threatening it.
I was a finalist for the BBC International Wildlife Artist of 2012 and 2011. I am a Signature Member of the California Watercolor Association (CWA), and have won many awards from juried shows. My painting was accepted into the National Watercolor Society exhibit in San Pedro in 2012. I received two grants from the Oakland Cultural Arts Program and a commission from the Alameda Arts Commission. My work has been exhibited in museum, zoos, regional parks, and wildlife centers.
