This piece is silent. But thoughts are not. What the heart is confessing is scribbled within the lines of an innocent child’s face. Where we all once were…where we wish we could be again. To start over. To do it all one more time.
What would you do different? Would you have talked back? Taken another hug? Said goodbye differently? Or, would you have made the right choice in simply saying no? Or accepting and saying yes?
What would you do different? Give a sweet kiss to your little one once more, tuck them in, or read the same book again? Would you make a decision to not let them go? Or let them?
This piece is untitled, and rightly so. My inspiration for the small pencil lines on top of this paper is the face of every timeless child. Of you. Of the person next to you. Of your child. Of me. Never once will I again take for granted the wonder of life, the power of forgiveness, but most of all the beauty of love.
