Call for Entries Accepted Artists
What began as a Devine and personal journey of a silent bond, had translated into images of a relationship, that seemed to resonate to others around me, of the wonders and vastness of God.
I am an “untrained” artist. I have not attended traditional art school, and I choose not to in the future. Too much do I enjoy the small whispers of an unknown technique that I seem to just “know” how to use. Too much do I enjoy the sweetness of an image later created that has been borrowed from another invisible Hand.
This piece speaks “peace.” In times of turmoil, in times of twists, turns, and confusion there is peace. The subject is looking forward, but not behind. Her hand on her heart. Her second had holding her chin up. All the confusion within her hair-within the lines. But…there is growth.
The 1920’s dancer/model Dora Ford was my inspiration for the subject, and material used for the hair is made of raffia; spray painted black.
