Artist Tina Dille
Tina Dille earned a BFA in Studio Art from CSUB in 2008. She has locally exhibited her work in various art shows and galleries and most recently at Bakersfield Museum of Art. Dille’s body of work depicts the wild-life and domesticated animals that surround her. Her medium of choice is watercolor onto Yupo paper for its free-flowing and unpredictable results.
“Mechanical Bird was inspired by the playfulness and comical antics of Ravens. However, the painting took on a more serious tone when I dropped my colors onto the paper. Odd formations appeared that resembled robotic or mechanical shapes giving the painting a surreal quality to it. I continue to add more paint and detail to push the imagery in this direction.”
“To complete this contemporary interpretation of a Raven, Mechanical Bird is archival sealed and laminated onto 15×15 box frame. Ravens may be known for their playfulness and comical antics, but they are also the most intelligent of all birds that display high learning abilities with the use of logic. “Mechanical Bird” represents this sophistication of Ravens’ intellect and spirit.”
