Ink and Pen
Vivienne is translucent. The front is an intricate large scale pen and ink drawing. The back is painted with water color. The piece is backed with translucent film and is meant to be displayed in front of a light source, such as a window. The piece captures the light and glows.
My intention when creating Vivienne was to simply enjoy drawing the intricate patterns and portray the majesty of dragonfly wings. The drawing, then watercolor treatment was all an idea. I wanted to experiment and see what the results would be.
Vivienne softly holds the light, color and design. The piece is soothing, yet has a presence.
