Artist Statement
“I am an artist with a camera.”—I began expressing myself, through art, as a child; by drawing, painting, and sculpting. It wasn’t until the year of 2008 I discovered photography. I truly fell in love with what my eyes, the lens, my camera, and my mind could create.
When I looked through the lens of my camera everything around me seemed to disappear, and my lens became a detector that was drawn to all the beauty I felt surrounded by.
In 2009 I began to shoot nudes—the body was such a wonderful art form to me; each body different from the other—in color, shape, and size.
Perspective Perception, in a piece of work, part of the series “Being”. “Being” is a nude series that presents the idea that the body is an artful masterpiece within a world of masterpieces; Our bodies are creations, of something so almighty, put into a world of technology, buildings, architecture, fashion ect.—which are all man created masterpieces.
