I grew up in Bronx, NY, with a heart for everything mystical and dreamy. Back then, you could always find me somewhere sitting quietly sketching women with goddess-like garb creating a wardrobe on paper. The images of my childhood sketches lay dormant for many years until 2003 when I started sketching again.
In 2004 I came across the Fusionart technique of fusing of the opposites, intuitive creation. “Illuminata I” was inspired by one of my earlier works, Prism Dance. Prism Dance caught the attention of many, moving me to re-examine what the energy was that was attracting them to this work, so many years after I created it.
Of particular inspiration in naming this collection is “Illuminata, A Return to Prayer” by Marianne Williamson, who defines “The Luminous Mind… an abstract principle dressed in human cloth, the light filled explosion that occurs when the mind has embraced its Source. Illumination is not of this world….it is both, our source and destiny, the reason we came here and stay here.”
Prism Dance was the beginning of that vision, years later, the journey towards illumination, to what my “light” looks and feels like was depicted in the Illuminata Collection. It is my desire that these works inspire you to seek and find your path of illumination and light and to share it with the world, no matter where you are in your life’s journey.
