Call for Artists Accepted Entries
Artist Natan Pernick
This portrait is part of a series of anonymous painted portraits, which involved shooting pedestrians on the street and then painting selected photos. In my selections I attempted to achieve a delicate balance between stereotype and uniqueness, such that a subject might look familiar and yet remain an enigma.
The girl in the painting was hesitating while she requested to be photographed for the project. As I consistently attempt to be as close as possible to reality in aspects of techniques and subjects, I decided to paint her exactly as she appeared in her reaction at that moment.
