Digital Drawing on Organic Cotton
Fundamentally, my work asks how humans can live in the world in a responsible way. It addresses humanity’s relationship to food, domesticated animals and ecosystems. It also actively works toward balancing these relationships, whether by depicting an ideal to work toward or by more practically facilitating an experience within an art context that can be applied to daily living.
This as an ecosystem-based approach in the sense that my art practice stimulates my mind and daily life and viceversa. Consequently, it is a model for my viewers to utilize. While I see the world around me as being in deeply layered states of disrepair, the act of making this work is a hopeful exercise.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries.
