Call for Entries Accepted Artists
Artist Erik Kaye
More than just a painting exercise, I wanted to see what a package of dried ramen would look like when presented monumentally. The viewer is invited to look at the 12 cent food item as an abstraction, as an aesthetic satisfaction completely removed from its utilitarian usage, as an artist does. The underlying philosophy is that aesthetics isn’t just a system for artists, but it coincides with the growth of any natural holistic system or process, dried noodles included.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
