My artwork focuses primarily on spiritual, technological and environmental issues. I have been formally trained in drawing and painting in college where computer aided art had not been introduced to me. Today however, I prefer to use technology as my paintbrush. Computers touch our lives in every capacity. I use computer technology everyday for my art and professionally in my art direction and design. I find no other media executes my ideas with such completion as digital art.
In my piece, “ Magnetic Highway” I have attempted to bridge the gap between the dimensions of nature and technology. In an ideal society I believe these two worlds should coexist in harmony with each other. Within this current space in time they conflict and battle. Maybe other worlds have resolved this dilemma. I’ve addressed this possibility in my image of the SETI satellite dish array, located in New Mexico. I juxtaposed technology with an organic life form where our future coexistence is completed. The title “Magnetic Highway” refers to the interstellar space between solar systems.
