My approach to photography is based on my belief that every living thing carries within it the beauty and splendor of the stars. As a photographer, I make it my business to capture the beauty that resides within. Though I’ve always known that exquisite beauty can exist within ephemeral moments, I didn’t always feel that it was my personal calling to capture those fleeting moments in time.
I graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with top honors and a bachelor’s degree in public administration and spent several years with a national non-profit organization. Drawn to the art of photography so strongly, I eventually left office work to pursue it on a full time basis.
I specialize in natural light portraiture and fine art photography. I take great pride in my versatility and approach all projects with an artist’s eye. While I have little formal photographic training, I have spent countless hours learning the craft and continue to hone my skills.
This photograph really speaks to me. I think it invokes more than a sense of sadness and dejection. I feel that it makes a greater statement regarding both the isolation of captivity and the destruction of natural habitats around the world.
