Artist Statement
This work explores an emotional and deeply personal connection between two people through the eyes of an objective machine: a 3D scanner. Because of the limitations of the machine’s visual processing, it mistakenly renders a physical connection between the two faces in motion, often making them appear as one connected object.
Because of this “mistake” however, the machine has actually visualized a truth that does exist, namely the desire for two people to come together or become one. The viewer, seeing the couples only through the machine’s point of view in fact gets an actual sense of the closeness of the partners, enabling the viewer to understand and maybe feel the sense of emotional connection.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
If you are interested in art collecting and would like to purchase this beautiful art, give our art galleries a call. Our art gallery is wonderful place for art collectors.
