Liam Alexander is a fine artist and internationally published photographer working the medium of collage, video, photography and sculpture. Liam’s expansive spectrum of work draws influence from his broad travels, his work in the fashion world, and his existence on the fringes of modern society. His themes touch upon the inner workings of the self, beauty, society, technology, futurism and the existential while remaining grounded in his use of traditional tactile mediums in conjunction with new media, and technology.
His fine art and fashion photography have been featured throughout the world in a myriad of magazine publications and gallery shows including his first solo photography show in 2009 “Behind the Curtain,” which opened alongside Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, at Envoy Gallery East. His art installation “Works in Progress” was featured at the South Street Seaport in NY in 2010. In 2011 Liam’s fine art video and Collage works were featured at the Culturefix Gallery, NY while he created a multi disciplinary fine art installation for the Daniella Kallmeyer fall fashion show, and was awarded a commission to create a fine art installation at the Children’s Museum of the Arts celebrated Art Auction in November. In December 2011 Liam opened his second solo photography exhibition “Landscape of a Dream” in Brooklyn, NY. This year, Liam exhibited his interactive new media sculpture “@twtrpalla” internationally as a part of the second annual Toolkit Art Festival in Venice, Italy.
Liam also sits on the board of directors of the New York Chapter of the America Society of Media Photographers, is an alumni of Parsons School of Design, was the winner of the Juried Children’s Museum of the Arts Artball contest in 2011, and a recipient of the GLAAD top 100 Artists Award.
