Be Still Life Call for Entries Accepted Artists Artist Sid Kincaid Hillsboro, Oregon Reflective Recycling Fine Art Photography Artist Statement There is so much truth to the saying “One Man’s Trash Is An Other Man’s Treasure”. Here is an interesting example of creating art out of found objects. Old bike reflectors make a wonderful sculpture! I shot this image on a hot summer afternoon. The sun and cloud mix was creating amazing light, just perfect for the right kind of reflective light that I wanted. I shoot with a Nikon and Sony digital SLR. It’s a great day when you create something new in Photography!Read More →

Be Still Life Call for Entries Accepted Artists Artist Ulrike Scheuchl Laguna Beach, California Time Well Wasted Digital Art Artist Statement Following a move from Europe to California in 2009, I devoted myself more to my passions: photography and art. I made an effort to tap into my creative power and recently started to experiment with the technique of combining photographs and digital media. Some of my most creative ideas have come to me in the middle of the night. I therefore always keep a pen and paper on my nightstand.Read More →
Be Still Life Call for Entries Accepted Artists Artist Sara Fleenor Eaton, Oh Differing Perspectives Oil Painting Artist Statement Through my work, I examine the phenomenon of Americana through an interpretation of consumerism. My paintings appropriate commercial art in the form of logos, product packaging, and the things we throw away. What began as an initial questioning of traditional still life subject matter has translated into a narrative of an American collective consciousness through the specific products that we buy. My purpose is to explore the relationship between conspicuous and discrete consumerism and to immortalize the ephemeral. My paintings are oil on stretched canvas. TheRead More →

I am an Assamese-American visual artist and a published author of short stories. I was raised in the Midwestern USA by immigrant parents from Assam, India. When I was 7 years old, I visited Assam with my parents for our usual summer holiday. During that visit, I witnessed our neighbor slap a 7-year-old servant girl for wetting herself. Be Still Life Call for Entries Accepted Artists Artist Stephanie Luke Cottonwood, Ca Preservation Fine Art Photography Artist Statement Flowers are routinely preserved by drying, or pressing between the pages of a book.
