Artist Statement
My quest is to find spirituality and meaning in life. My paintings abound with symbolic elements associated with spirituality and religions around the world. These icons are brought together in search of a spiritual truth – one that goes beyond all understanding – and which is the focus of my work.
The result is a work in progress that perpetually continues with no answers, only more questions. I believe there is a spiritual and mystic side to man that is being neglected in our so-called advanced world. It is a world that has alienated us from our fellow man, from our environment, and from the core of our spirituality.
Through my paintings, I explore the mystic side of human kind, the side of us that is often skewed by our modernized, ever-advancing world. The end result of man’s advancements and what will become of humankind is unknown, yet the juxtaposition of spiritual objects with modern society suggests a surreal and often foreboding vision.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
