Artist Statement
I set out to do a series on what it’s like to feel small and inconsequential in a big city. As my work tends to fall towards the ridiculous, a serious project became a little silly. While the images created are clearly fictive, I feel as though the subjects still have the power to appeal to the empathetic nature of the audience.
The ability to manipulate how the world is seen is one of my favorite characteristics of photography. To be able to shift focus using real images is a challenge but it is also a fantastic way of expressing your character. I feel that through exploring how I view my surroundings and what I want others to see I gain a better understanding of the world around me and my place in it.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
If you are passionate about art collecting and would like to buy this beautiful artwork, give our Los Angeles art galleries a call. Our art gallery is a perfect place for art collectors.
