Call for Entries Accepted Artists
Artist Silvia Wagensberg
Venice, California, USA
Do paintings react to us? What happens to them after we move on and look at something else? These portraits are part of an ongoing series that depicts characters living in LA and searching for emotional communication through language. Their layered experiences are reflected in these paintings, as their disposition survives translation upon adaptation upon cultural differentiation.
Helcha is the mother and grandmother living abroad and apart from her child and grandchild who live in Los Angeles. Her presence is nevertheless notable and somehow they all remain connected regardless of distance and time.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas.
