Geometry is ever-present in our world. In my paintings I use geometry to try and communicate something deeper about the moment depicted. The shapes and lines fracture reality and at the same time reveal greater meaning in each image. This can be the radiant energy of a bright shining moon, the flight path of a flock of birds or the inner world of a portrait subject’s mind.
I began exploring the medium of acrylic paint in 2002. My early paintings were pure abstractions that became more rigidly designed as I continued to work. In 2008 I began to develop the geometric abstractions of figurative imagery that I continue to paint today, a styleI broadly classify as Post-Digital Modernism.
