Fine Art Photography
Working as a graphic designer for the past 15 years, I have always been obsessed with how shapes, patterns and the visual representation of words communicate hierarchies of information. Initially, I began making photos as a design element to incorporate into my work, but soon realized how photography helped me experience the world with a sense of presence that is very hard for me to achieve in any other way. Photography not only encourages me to see the mundanely familiar in new ways, but it has also sparked an insatiable curiosity that drives me to places I wouldn’t otherwise go and forces me to do things I wouldn’t otherwise do.
In my current work I focus on the order and abstract uniformity in typically chaotic urban environments in order to make sense of overdevelopment, increased information flow and the unstable nature of our global transition. Attempting to give life to inanimate objects, I examine how fast-paced industrialization has overtly forced the visualization of these objects into our everyday experience.
