I have lived a majority of my life in the Deserts of Arizona. You begin to place a reverence around water especially when your the son of a farmer. It’s coolness, it’s fluidity, it’s magical ability to replace desolation with bloom.
This feeling was magnified when I attended College in Santa Barbara, it was so beautiful next to the sea. Graduating from Brooks Institute with a BA Degree in Commerical Photography I’ve seen film & darkrooms turn into Digital Capture & Computer Workstations. I’ve seen the revolution of evolution.
Photoshop has changed everything opening doors to creativity, expanding the artists palette beyond any boundary. This piece “Stones” is an evolution of my imaging. A camera capture error made an image that intriqued me. As I used various techniques on the image it began to take on a life of it’s own showing me what it wanted to become.
To me these are stones…cool, colorful, soft and slippery just under the surface, beautifully brilliant in their rest. I love the quiet of the desert and the distance of the sea. They soften some of the madness lifes years have given me.
