Call for Entries Accepted Artists
My artwork is mostly introspective and is influenced by life experiences (mine and also of people around me). They intend to draw the viewer towards the hidden and sometimes ironic side of human nature. I have been painting for as long as my earliest memories go. Art gives me a chance to express my most profound thoughts without (hopefully) sounding too pedantic.
Although I have dabbled with various media, I am most at home with oil painting. Using oils on canvas gives me the plasticity crucial to depicting my themes. The end product is enhanced richness in colour and texture which in my opinion is unrivalled by other forms of media.
The painting, ‘Unrequited’, has a wistful moodiness. The soft colours symbolize the sensitive and delicate nature of relationships. The light coloured beads and incomplete swirls represent those relationships that are nascent with unknown consequences. The gold beads are those that have matured beyond un-reciprocation and are therefore ‘golden memories’.
I was born in India and was raised in Mumbai, India and Doha, Qatar. I do not have any formal training in art. I am currently pursuing a PhD degree in Molecular Biology. Hopefully in the future I can find a way of bridging my two different worlds of Art and Science.
