Artist Statement
Light controls the way we see the world around us. This becomes a perfect illustration for the “light” referred to in the gospel of Jesus who died to give humanity a new light of truth. In this series titled Redemption, I explored viewing my own reflection using harsh lighting looking through different colors of sheer fabric representing different states of heart.

In The Rebellion of Man, the figure is seen through black sheer fabric. The expression is arrogant and there is no hint of shame staring into the light. Wisps of hair caught in the light resemble a halo reminiscent of classical Christian art suggesting the figure’s godlike perspective of himself. The eyes are darkened and void suggesting the figure’s inability to see light of his own accord.

The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.

If you are interested in art collecting and would like to purchase this beautiful art, give our art galleries a call. Our art gallery is a wonderful place for art collectors.

Our owner and curator is Los Angeles photographer Linnea Lenkus who has a passion for high quality art.
