Continuing with her Artist Portrait Series, Linnea Lenkus, Los Angeles fine art photographer and curator at Linus Galleries, has selected artists from the “Silent Communication” art show to have portrait sessions with her. This quality time with them allows Lenkus to build a foundation in order for artists to know that our contemporary art gallery is not only a a venue to display art at, but rather a resource for future artistic endeavors. When not preoccupied with Linus Galleries’ shows, Lenkus devotes her time at her two portrait studio locations, in Pasadena and Long Beach, making her more than qualified to properly capture artists through her lens.
Fortunate to have a one on one session with Linnea was artist Enzie Shahmiri. For our last live show at our Pasadena art gallery, Shahmiri contributed with her artwork entitled Iranian Man. The fluidity of her brush strokes beautifully expose profound human emotion. This piece acts as a black and white photograph, revealing her advanced artistry in rendering such portrait in oil paint.
“Trained in Classical Realism Enzie Shahmiri is a portrait artist who has created portraits for families and individuals since 1999. The artist draws inspiration for her paintings from years of travel and observation of people from around the world.
Best known for her commissioned portraits of people and pets, Enzie not only captures her subjects’ distinctive facial expressions, but their unique aura’s and their own current place in life. Her subjects are as rich and as culturally diverse as her depictions of them.”
– Ms. Lisa Freedman, Art Marketer
Her work reflects her passion for humanity and she is equally passionate about philanthropic endeavors and charitable causes, to which she donates much of her work to improve the lives of others. The artist’s paintings have been exhibited in many solo and group exhibits and are in private collections in the USA, Europe and the Middle East.
Her paintings range from traditional oil portraits to Orientalist style figurative pieces using a Classical Old Master’s technique. Her work has been published on numerous occasions and has been featured in books.
“I love the idea of submitting my paintings to themed art competitions curated by Linus Gallery. These type of shows allow artists to stretch their imagination in ways that go beyond mere representation to ways of making a defined statement about a certain topic. Linus Gallery through their themed shows is creating an atmosphere for art lovers where they can see how each artist interprets the same theme in so many different ways. The opportunity to have an artistic photo session with gallery owner Linnea demonstrated the owner’s care and enthusiasm about the artist she represents.”
