Oxbridge and Camford are portmanteaus of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge. The terms are often used with implications of superior social and intellectual status. Annually both Universities compete in a boat race on the River Thames in London, England. More than 250,000 watch the race of the “Blue Boats” live between Putney and Mortlake regardless of March weather conditions. Social and intellectual status mixed in a continous drizzle and massive traffic jam.
