Call for Artists Accepted Artists
Roseville, California USA
My current series is meant to communicate my appreciation of life with the viewer. It is an extension of myself, an unfolding of my experiences, and an opportunity to share my enjoyment of life with others. Conversations with my wife and friends show up in my work, along with nostalgic American iconography, and contemporary imagery often painted from photographs I’ve taken along the way.
This work combines my love of nostalgic imagery and painting figures, with a trompe l’oeil twist, as seen in the oil and acrylic illusion of paper men taped to a wall in This One and a shopping list taped in Beverages and Batteries.
I use universal and retro images to evoke the viewer’s sense of nostalgia, allowing each viewer to make his or her own personal connection with each piece. The ideas conveyed within each painting are positive messages, learned from my own personal experiences and shared with the viewer through my work.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
