I’m fascinated by fractals. Fractals are infinitely complex patterns that are self-similar across different scales from as huge as the universe to microscopic levels not seen by the human eye. We are all part of an infinity mirror of patterns. The closer I look, the more I see beautiful patterns all around. Some look orderly. Others look chaotic. Nature continually repeats itself. Some of the pictures I take remind me of that.
When I took the photo “Growing On You” I was walking towards the beach in Laguna. As I strolled through the neighborhood I noticed a beautiful terra cotta colored wall with little white dots and little branches. It looked like an Asian painting or a beautiful pattern you would see on lovely fabric. I took a photo to capture that moment of unexpected awe I found in such a simple and likely overlooked object.
