I photograph to capture an emotion that’s triggered by color, structure, or light. I’m inspired by many genres of music, painters, writers, and poets. My photographic style leans toward a preference for simplicity over complexity. The world of art has inspired me to move my photography closer to experimental expression.
The oneness I feel with my subject through the viewfinder, begs to be continued into post-processing where the art is refined. I use several layers of filters to intensify contrast, vibrancy or brightness.
Layers are like a palette of color; selecting when and where to add a detail extractor, add grain, a vignette, a blur, or a polaroid transfer that might slowly tear away edges or increase negative lines. I aim for a deconstruction of the photograph.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
If you are interested in art collecting and would like to purchase this beautiful art, give our art galleries a call. Our art gallery is a wonderful place for art collectors.
