Artist Calls Accepted Artists

There is something very majestic about the color black. It’s meditative and mysterious. I get lost in that which intrigues me. I can never anticipate these moments; they just happen. All I can do is listen to what they have to say. Profound moments are always waiting for targets. They can be found within or beyond the self.
With my work I am trying to create a unique space for reflection; a place where one may encounter moments of fascination. This work is heavily dependent upon the relationship with the viewer. The piece begs for a dialogue, which the viewer brings to it. However, once the dialogue starts, it quickly turns into a monologue.
“Sunspot” was created with several layered materials. A circular mirror is adhered to the back side of interface fabric, which is stretched over a wooden frame. The fabric is then painted on and covered in layers of acrylic medium. The medium creates a slick and shiny surface reflecting the light uniquely around the mirror. There is an odd faint glow, which pulls the viewer in to examine the surface.
