“Falling Light” was shot in an abandoned house in Anamosa, IA. It was often used as a squat by local homeless kids in transition. The absence of electricity meant no lights could be used so we relied solely on the natural light coming through the windows which created deep shadows. We were concentrating on using the light to illuminate the essence of Teri’s figure.
My work is about the way light behaves and the moods it creates. I’m interested in showing how it can bend around corners and illuminate floating dust particles. I’m especially fond of the contrast between darkness and subtle light forms like starlight and moonlight.
