Artist Statement
My musical background has greatly influenced the way I approach creating visual art. For example, when composing music, I have used synthesizers to generate sound waves. These waves can be “colored” and transformed by sending them though filters, adjusting their length and amplitude and by adding effects until the desired sound is produced. By using a similar process in Photoshop, I created “Tribal Tech Blue on White”.
I began by using a photograph that I shot of an old fashioned big wheel bike with its wheels spinning. Once opened in Photoshop, I isolated the motion in the photo and selected the edges. I then proceeded to experiment with the parameters of the wave filter and completed the composition by applying layer styles and blending modes.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
