Artist Statement
The Giants physical size doesn’t matter in the David and Goliath story but rather, the greatness of the mind does, which seems to be unlimited when it comes to creativity. In order to survive (Goliath as the giant deadly threat) and to become more and more conscious (strength) the human mind always had to think out of the box and look over the fence in learning to think strategically, etc.
In “Giants” the face of the “human ant” David became gigantic, outstretching the canvas and seeming to expand (mind). David’s strategic thinking defeated Goliath. David overcame the blackness of hopelessness (vulnerability) by analyzing and focusing on a problem (strength) and achieved clearness and self-awareness (white).
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
