Call For Entries: Gestures & Facial Expressions

We can’t help it! We’re hungry for more fresh artwork! Linus Galleries must have it’s fill of talented artists. We want to see how you interpret this next theme!

Call For Entries Deadline: June 17, 2013

People don’t always communicate with words. Sometimes our body language and facial expressions inform others of our internal dialogue or intentions. Even what we once thought was a hidden feeling could be carefully and thoughtfully put into visual terms. Have you ever noticed what longing looks like? How about mischievous intent? Can you tell when someone is listening to or telling a funny story?

It can be as simple as how one uses his or her hands to speak or how expressive one’s face is while recounting an event.

For this art exhibition, we’re asking the artist to go beyond the obvious and bring us a meaningful observation and unique interpretation of the vast amount of facial and gestural communication there is. We’re looking for artwork that focuses on how we communicate with our hands (and body to a certain extent) and with our facial expressions.

All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography to wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Artwork up to 12 feet are acceptable. Video submissions will be displayed online only.

Miniatures Call For Entries

We thought we would try something different this time. Instead of asking artists to go bigger, we want them to go smaller. We want artwork that is no larger that 8 x 10 inches overall! Submit art that puts the mini in miniature.

Call For Entries Deadline: June 03, 2013

Just as the title suggests, we’re looking for miniatures! Anything from paintings, drawings, photography, wall sculpture, etc. is accepted.

Get creative with this open-themed call. We want to let the size dictate what you show us.

Unlike our other exhibitions, our size limit is 8 x 10 inches overall for any medium.

We loved our Portraits submissions from last year so much, we wanted to do it again this year! So here you are, another Linus Galleries Call For Entries: Portraits 2013!

Call For Entries Deadline: May 20, 2013

A portrait is meant to capture the essence of the subject. However, despite all details being in plain sight, a portrait can also raise a great deal of questions; What does that smile mean? What kind of person are they? Mischievous? Lighthearted? From their facial expression to telltale scars, from their wardrobe to what they hold- these are cryptic symbols left for the viewer to ponder and attempt to decipher.

For this online art exhibition, we’re looking for portraits, both in traditional and non-traditional styles and mediums, that communicate about the subject being portrayed. How will you present your subject?

Duality Call For Entries

We thought we would give a more abstract concept a try in this call for entries. We find that giving freedom to artists often unearths thought-provoking and ground-breaking artwork that would have remained hidden otherwise!

Like with our previous calls for art, we want to make sure we uncover some of the world’s emerging innovative minds out there. Our community of artists has grown so much in the past two years. We are so very proud to be among artists of the calibre we’ve had in our art exhibitions.

Without further a-do, here’s our latest call for entries entitled Duality.

Duality:

Opposites are laws of the universe. Good and evil, love and hate, night and day, heaven and earth. Opposites are forces that complement each other; there can’t be one without the other. For this call for entries, we’re looking for your unique interpretation of duality for this upcoming exhibition. This theme is open to as many possibilities as there are in the universe.

All international artists, professional and amateur, and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography to wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Sizes up to 12 feet are acceptable. Video submissions will be displayed online only.

Accepted entries for this online exhibition will be judged again for a collective live exhibition at our Pasadena Gallery. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition.
DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS: May 6, 2013

Cost: $35 for 3 entries, $5 for additional entries.

We all have a pretty good idea of what the Seven Deadly Sins are. Some of us may have even committed a sin or two. For this exhibition, take a few steps into the dark side and bring us your unique, fresh take on this very classic theme.

All international artists, professional and amateur and all art mediums will be considered in this call for entries from photography, wall sculpture, fabric, mixed media, all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc. Work must be able to be hung on a wall to be considered. Sizes up to 12 feet are acceptable. Photography recommended minimum size is no less than 20 by 24 inches.

Accepted entries for this online art exhibition will be judged again for a collective live exhibition at our Pasadena Gallery. The artists will be asked if they wish to submit their artwork for the collective exhibition, which is not a requirement to being a part of the online exhibition.

Video submissions will be displayed online only.
