Artist Statement
Angels were seen as spiritual symbols in heaven. In my photos they refuse the clear interpretation in a way through their subtle eroticism. So they reveal unexpected, convey uneasiness about the relationship between heaven and earth and open up to questions. The ambition of my photographic work is to address the simultaneity of the world and their individual interpretation. Modeled on something real but beyond the certainty, represent alone the reality. The photos take part of a normal course of life journey to the poetry and allows oneself space for their magic. Reality, perception and messages merge to subjective interpretation. Photography is the medium to sleuth subjectivity into objectively. The diffuse is an essential tool used to address the simultaneity of the world and their individual interpretation – created by movement of the camera or by double exposures.
My work is like a “Situational Photography”. In a narrow, almost meditative bonding form, the camera and I build a unit for this moment. The process of creating represent my way to construe reality, and at the same time to use the fiction of photography as a medium for the presentation of facts. I prefer to slip the photographed object on my interpretation like a hat. The procedure give rise to image with and around the existing – like a dance with and around the existing. The challenge and at the same time the artistic challenge are to create the design abstraction of the moment. My motivation to work on this special way with the camera is based on a desire for subjectivity in the perception and representation of the world in photography. So these images are part of my trip in a poetic and aesthetic appropriation of a normal course of life and opportunity for individual interpretation, to give a chance for own perception and experiences.
