Can’t Fix Everything
This work was created initially on paper, using acrylics, inks, and pen. I worked on it in a fairly dark room, which I often do with my strong emotional pieces. The reason I choose to do so is that it takes away much of the thought process, and the critical eye we often use when we create. A dark room means that emotion and shape are more able to flow without constraint.
I used my hands to work on this piece as well, quite literally. It was important for me when creating this that I actually became part of the work itself. Art is such a powerful expression when sometimes we have no words.
After I took it out into the light, I photographed it then overlaid it with an “accidental” photograph I had taken – a hurried, blurred image – because it seemed fitting that the artwork reflect also the tumultuous intensity of our lives at times, where we are pulled in all directions and become simply overwhelmed.
The views expressed by our artists in their artist statements do not necessarily represent the views of our art galleries. Artists can be visually expressive but may verbally misrepresent their true intentions or ideas. Please note that we support expression, whether it is controversial or not, but our intention is never to offend.
If you are interested in art collecting and would like to purchase this beautiful art, give our art galleries a call. Our art gallery is a wonderful place for art collectors.
Our owner and curator is fine art photographer Linnea Lenkus who has a passion for high quality art. She welcomes all kinds of art galleries in Los Angeles.
